Scaly Sensory
Experience

Overview

Humans have five senses — we use our eyes for sight, ears for hearing, nose for smell, tongue for taste, and skin for touch.
But do our animals have the same senses as we do?

In this session, pupils will explore how different animals use their senses to survive and thrive in their habitats. They’ll discover how these senses help animals find food, avoid danger, and communicate in unique ways.

Through a hands-on animal handling experience, pupils will make real-world connections as they explore textures, sounds, and sensations — a multi-sensory activity designed to engage and include everyone, from new intake pupils to SEN classes.
