Terms and Conditions
Venue Requirements
Torr’s Exotics requires a minimum of 30 minutes access prior to and following the scheduled event to facilitate setup and breakdown. This time is also essential to allow the animals to acclimate to the environment before the encounter begins.
Torr’s Exotics necessitates sufficient space to accommodate all participants during the encounter, irrespective of whether the event is hosted at a private residence or a designated venue. For smaller venues, it is recommended that furniture be rearranged to create adequate space. Torr's Exotics shall not be held responsible for any damage to property. To mitigate risks, we advise that any items susceptible to damage be relocated or appropriately covered.
Access to an operational power source is a mandatory requirement to ensure proper heating for our animals. Torr’s Exotics does not supply power sources, and it is the responsibility of the host to ensure that power is readily available. Should this requirement not be met, we reserve the right to withdraw from the event to safeguard the welfare of our animals.
Additionally, we request that all pets, such as dogs, cats, and small mammals, be kept away from the designated encounter area. This policy is implemented to ensure the safety of both the event animals and the host’s pets, as certain animals, such as snakes, may react defensively to the presence or scent of mammals.
It is the sole responsibility of the Event Organiser to obtain all necessary permissions, consents, and approvals required for Torr’s Exotics to attend and operate at the event venue. Torr’s Exotics shall bear no responsibility or liability for securing such permissions. Torr’s Exotics agrees to provide, upon request, any relevant documentation reasonably required by the venue prior to the scheduled event date.
In the event that the Event Organiser fails to obtain the required permissions or approvals, resulting in the cancellation or prevention of the Torr’s Exotics Encounter, such cancellation shall be deemed the fault of the Event Organiser. The Event Organiser shall remain fully liable for all fees and balances due under the booking agreement.
Parking
Parking for our vehicle must be located close to the venue, with an unobstructed and safe pathway directly to the entrance. This is crucial for the secure transportation of our animals. If you encounter any challenges, either at your residence or a venue you’ve arranged, you must notify Torr’s Exotics at least 48 hours before the scheduled booking. This includes venues without parking facilities or restrictions in residential areas. Torr’s Exotics will assess the situation and determine if attendance remains feasible and safe under the circumstances.
During outdoor events, our vehicle must remain next to our setup at all times to ensure the safety of our animals and provide a heat source. We must also have a clear exit in emergency situations, such as if our animals become ill or we need to leave the event due to weather conditions.
It is the responsibility of the event organisers to follow these guidelines. If they fail to do so, Torr’s Exotics has the right to leave the encounter and no refund will be issued. Event organisers may be liable for any charges, including but not limited to fines or penalties imposed by regulatory authorities or third parties, that arise as a result of the Client’s failure to provide timely and accurate notification to the Company.
Indoor events
Please ensure that the indoor venue provides adequate space for a 6-foot table and seating for participants. Additionally, it's essential that the facility has a power source to keep our animals warm. All our electrical equipment is PAT tested and regularly checked for damages or faults. If the venue requires documentation, we will send it directly to them upon request, so please provide us with their details for processing.

Outdoor events must provide adequate shade, shelter, and a flat, secure area away from hazards.
Events will not proceed outdoors if:
Conditions include heavy rain, strong winds, snow, or other unsafe weather.
In cases of unsafe weather, Provider will make every effort to move the event indoors (if Client provides a suitable space) or reschedule.
If relocation or rescheduling is not possible, Provider reserves the right to cancel the event. Deposits remain non-refundable, but any remaining balance paid will be refunded.
Provider may remove animals or end the event early without refund if guests or conditions pose a risk to animal welfare.
Safety
The health and safety of both participants and animals are of paramount importance to Torr's Exotics. All animals are trained to be handled in a secure and controlled manner to minimize the risk of injury to handlers and animals alike. However, it is important to acknowledge that there remains a residual risk of bites or scratches, as handling live animals involves inherent unpredictability.
Torr's Exotics carries public liability insurance but is not responsible for injuries, allergic reactions, or illnesses resulting from interaction with animals. Client agrees to indemnify and hold Provider harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from the event, except in cases of Provider’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Food Allergies, Hygiene, and Assumption of Risk
The Client acknowledges and accepts that the mobile petting zoo environment may expose attendees to animals, animal feed, hay, straw, bedding materials, dust, dander, and other substances that may cause allergic reactions, respiratory irritation, illness, or sensitivities.
The Client agrees to inform all guests, attendees, participants, parents, guardians, and supervising adults that live animals and associated materials will be present at the event.
The Company does not warrant or guarantee that the event environment will be free of allergens, bacteria, zoonotic organisms, animal-related contaminants, or other naturally occurring substances associated with animal-handling activities.
All attendees interact with animals at their own risk.
The Client accepts full responsibility for:
-
notifying attendees of potential allergy and hygiene risks;
-
ensuring appropriate supervision of children and vulnerable persons;
-
ensuring that any attendee with known allergies, asthma, respiratory conditions, or medical sensitivities takes appropriate precautions prior to participation.
The Company reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to restrict or prohibit feeding activities, animal contact, or access to designated areas where health, hygiene, safety, or animal welfare concerns arise.
Attendees must comply with all hygiene and safety instructions provided by the Company, including handwashing or sanitising requirements before and after animal contact.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company shall not be liable for:
-
allergic reactions;
-
asthma attacks;
-
illness or infection;
-
personal injury;
-
or any adverse medical condition arising from contact with animals, feed, bedding, dust, or related materials,
except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law, including liability arising from negligence resulting in death or personal injury.
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit any rights afforded under applicable consumer protection or health and safety legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
Animal Welfare
Provider’s animals are living creatures and their health and safety are the highest priority.
Animals will not be over-handled, forced to interact, or placed in situations that cause stress, injury, or danger.
Provider reserves the right to refuse or limit animal interaction if animals show signs of stress, illness, or fatigue.
No food, drink, or outside animals (e.g., dogs) are permitted near Provider’s animals without explicit approval.
Guests must follow all handling rules provided by Provider. Rough handling, chasing, hitting, or teasing animals is strictly prohibited.
Provider may remove animals or end the event early without refund if guests or conditions pose a risk to animal welfare.
Breeding Season and Animal Welfare Clause
The Company reserves the right to withdraw, substitute, limit handling of, postpone, or remove any animal from attendance or public interaction during breeding, mating, nesting, pregnancy, nursing, moulting, or other sensitive welfare periods where participation may adversely affect the animal’s health, well-being, behaviour, or stress levels.
The Client acknowledges that animal welfare shall take priority over event operations at all times. Certain animals may become unavailable, require restricted interaction, or need to be separated from public contact without prior notice due to breeding-related behaviour, hormonal changes, veterinary advice, illness, stress, weather conditions, or other welfare considerations.
Where an owl encounter or specialist animal interaction cannot proceed for animal welfare reasons, the Company may, at its sole discretion, provide a suitable alternative experience, reschedule the encounter to a mutually agreed date, or issue a partial refund relating solely to the affected encounter element of the booking.
No refund or compensation shall otherwise be payable in respect of reasonable animal substitutions, restrictions, or modifications made for animal welfare purposes, provided the Company continues to supply the mobile petting zoo service in a substantially similar form.
The Company shall not permit the handling or public interaction of any animal deemed unsuitable for contact during breeding or related welfare periods, and all decisions relating to animal participation, suitability, and welfare shall remain at the sole discretion of the Company and its handlers.
Hygiene
Strict hygiene protocols are enforced during all events. Participants are required to wash their hands both before and after handling animals. Torr's Exotics provides hand sanitisers; however, it is imperative that the event location includes an adequate handwashing facility which has running water. Specific animal encounters may require gloves, which will be provided by Torr’s Exotics. Hand sanitiser or gels does not classify as proper hand wash guidelines by both Torr's Exotics and Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018.
Step on how to follow the current guideline around WHO hand wash hygiene can be seen on the NHS website https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/best-way-to-wash-your-hands/
Participant
We kindly request that Torr's Exotics be informed in advance of any specific requirements or accommodations needed for participants, such as physical disabilities, behavioural considerations, or language barriers. This ensures we can make the necessary arrangements to effectively accommodate all individuals in the group.
To ensure that each participant has the opportunity to interact with all animals during the encounter, our packages are subject to strict limits on the number of participants. These limits are determined by the staffing and resources allocated to each package, and therefore, modifications to the package cannot be made on the day of the event.
Should there be additional participants present upon our arrival, an additional fee will be charged for each additional individual. Alternatively, if the total number of participants exceeds the safety thresholds established for the animals' welfare, we reserve the right to cancel the event. Please note that in such instances, the full cost of the reserved event will remain payable.

If full payment is not received by this deadline, Torr’s Exotics reserves the right to cancel the booking and/or retain any deposits paid. The Client remains liable for any agreed charges incurred up to the point of cancellation.
By providing payment details, the Client authorises Torr’s Exotics to attempt collection of any overdue amounts using the payment method supplied where payment obligations remain outstanding.
Late Payment
Under the UK Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, business and organisational clients may be subject to statutory late payment provisions where invoices remain unpaid.
Payments not received by the due date may incur a £40 late payment administration fee.
For business and organisational clients, Torr’s Exotics reserves the right to charge statutory interest and compensation on overdue invoices in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Torr’s Exotics reserves the right to attempt collection of outstanding balances 24 hours after the invoice due date where payment has not been received.
Late payment charges may accrue from the day following the payment due date until payment has been made in full.
The Client acknowledges and agrees that any late payment fees represent a reasonable estimate of the administrative costs and financial losses incurred by Torr’s Exotics due to delayed payment.
Consequences of Non-Payment
If payment remains outstanding for 28 days after the due date, Torr’s Exotics reserves the right to:
-
suspend or terminate services;
-
refuse future bookings;
-
refer the debt to a collections or debt recovery agency; and/or

To cancel an event booking, please contact Torr’s Exotics on 07838 947900 during business hours (9:00am – 5:00pm).
Deposits
All deposits paid at the time of booking are strictly non-refundable.
Deposits are retained to cover administrative costs, scheduling, staffing, preparation, and reserved availability.
Where no deposit has been taken and it has been agreed that full payment will be made by the invoice due date, the Event Organiser and/or Client remains fully liable for payment in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
If an encounter or event is cancelled after booking, and no deposit was originally taken, the organiser shall remain liable for the applicable charges under the Cancellation Policy, including any cancellation fees or outstanding balances that would otherwise have been payable.
Client Cancellation Charges
If the Client cancels:
More than 7 days before the event:
-
the booking may be transferred to another event date (subject to availability); or
-
a refund may be issued excluding the non-refundable deposit.
Between 48 hours and 7 days before the event:
-
payments already made may be credited toward a future event at Torr’s Exotics’ discretion; and
-
no refund will be guaranteed.
Less than 48 hours before the event:
-
all payments already made will be forfeited; and
-
no refund or transfer will be available.
Event Organiser Cancellation
Where an Event Organiser, business, school, venue, or organisation cancels an event less than 48 hours prior to commencement, the organiser shall remain liable for a cancellation charge equal to 30% of the total booking cost, calculated using Torr’s Exotics’ standard pricing.
For example, where an encounter is priced at £200, a cancellation fee of £60 (30%) will apply.
Where the Event Organiser has selected a package in which members of the public are charged to attend, and the event is cancelled for any reason other than a valid Force Majeure Event, the Event Organiser shall remain liable for the applicable cancellation charges and the 30% cancellation fee shall remain payable in full.
The Client agrees that this cancellation charge reflects a reasonable estimate of losses incurred due to short-notice cancellation, including staffing costs, animal preparation and welfare planning, transport and logistics, administrative costs, reserved availability, preparation time, and lost booking opportunities.
This charge shall not apply where cancellation results directly from a valid Force Majeure Event.
Force Majeure
Neither Torr’s Exotics nor the Client shall be liable for failure or delay in performing obligations under this Agreement where such delay or failure arises from events beyond their reasonable control (“Force Majeure Events”).
Force Majeure Events include, but are not limited to:

-
animal illness, injury, welfare concerns, or death;

-

-
utility failures or power outages;
-

-
any other event outside the reasonable control of the affected party.
Where a Force Majeure Event Affects Torr’s Exotics
Where Torr’s Exotics cannot provide the booked event due to a Force Majeure Event, we will:
-
notify the Client as soon as reasonably practicable;
-
use reasonable efforts to rearrange the event to a mutually agreed alternative date; and
