Building a Brighter Future For Bolton Children Through Animal Education

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Nathan, and I run Torr’s Exotics Mobile Petting Zoo, based in Bolton.

We are currently developing an exciting new community project and are reaching out to local SEN schools, specialist provisions, and organisations to ensure we get it right from the beginning.

We currently work with around 36 animals, including tortoises, lizards, snakes, owls, parrots and invertebrates, delivering mobile animal experiences.

Our vision is to develop a programme that provides children with hands-on opportunities to learn about animal welfare, husbandry, and responsible animal care, with a particular focus on making these experiences accessible and meaningful for children with SEND.

We are exploring the possibility of providing fully funded sessions to local schools and provisions, alongside developing a longer-term animal education and wellbeing project within the Bolton community.

However, we don't want to assume that we know what children with SEND need.

There is no commitment required, and we aren't asking for funding.

At this stage, we're simply looking to listen, learn and build the project with the SEND community, rather than simply for the SEND community.
